Dear Parent and Student:

Thank you for choosing Rockingham Driving School for your driver education needs.  Our goal is to prepare the student with the skills and knowledge necessary to become a safe and defensive driver.  Our course is designed to make learning a fun and enjoyable experience for the first time driver.  Classes run eight weeks and are held Tuesday and Wednesday evenings 7:00PM-9:00PM.  All driving times are scheduled primarily on Saturday between the hours of 6:00AM & 3:00PM and with limited evenings and Sunday morning hours. Students must make themselves available for Saturday driving.

New Hampshire regulations require 30 hours of classroom study and 16 hours of on the road instruction, 10 hours of actual behind the wheel instruction and 6 hours of observation time.  In addition to this instruction, the student must also log 40 hours of practice behind the wheel with a parent or legal guardian.  Home practice allows the student to become more proficient at an earlier point in the training period.  To begin practicing a student must be at least 15 ½ years old and accompanied in the front seat by a New Hampshire licensed driver who is at least 25 years in age.  Students cannot take the N.H. State driving test until they are 16 years of age.

The cost of the course is $600.00 this includes a $200.00 deposit.  This covers all related costs of the program, including classroom and behind the wheel instruction, books and supplies.  The balance of $400.00 may be paid in full at the first class date or a minimum of $50.00 weekly, while the classroom sessions are being held.  The total cost of the course must be paid in full before a student will be allowed to take the final test.

In the event a student cannot keep an in car lesson appointment (driving or observing), we require the student to call and cancel the lesson no later than 6:00AM of the morning of the scheduled lesson. Failure to notify prior to 6:00AM will result in a fee of $35.00.

Rockingham Driving School conducts a 100-question test at the last day of class.  Passing this test with a grade of 70% is required to pass this course.  Any student who fails to pass the test with a 70% or better will be required to take the test again until a score of 70% or better is attained.

Upon successful completion of this course, students will receive a green colored certificate, which indicates that they have completed the driver’s education course.  They must bring this certificate, a parental consent slip, licensing fee of $50.00, birth certificate, social security card and another form of identification, the twenty hour practice driving log and present it to the DMV location at: Concord, Manchester, Epping, Merrimack or Salem. Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:15AM and 3:00PM on any day, and they will receive an appointment to take the state license test.
